Keyon Dooling, NBA athlete

May 21, 2016

Keyon Dooling is a former NBA player and author who played two seasons at the University of Missouri, before being drafted 10th overall in the 2000 NBA Draft, going to the Orlando Magic. During his 13-year career, Keyon played for six NBA teams: Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Boston Celtics. In 2012, Keyon faced a life-altering incident that brought back the trauma of being sexually assaulted as a child by a family friend. Keyon was admitted to a psychiatric hospital in an effort to resolve the effects of PTSD and confront the demons that continued to haunt him. In the summer of 2014, Keyon published his autobiography, “What’s Driving You? How I Overcame Abuse and Learned to Lead in the NBA.”
